Dr. Robert Jost
I love helping people achieve their best health!
I have been practicing dentistry for over 25 years and I am still as passionate about it as the day I started. I graduated from the University of Alberta in 1996 but my love for working with my hands started at a much earlier age in father’s woodshed. He was a master carpenter trained in Germany. He taught me the importance of thoughtful planning and the joy of careful craftsmanship. He was an honest and gentle man and I strive to be like him.
My first four years following graduation were spent as a Captain in the Armed Forces. This is where I receive my first advanced training in surgery as many of the young recruits needed their wisdom teeth removed before heading overseas. In 2002, I opened my own office, Enhance Dental Care, with my wife Jodi. For the next 16 years, I was privileged to care for my wonderful patients and work with an exceptional team. Now, I enjoy working as an associate dentist. This allows me to spend more time with family and focus on the areas of dentistry I love best-Surgery and caring for my patients!
Through out my career, I have been actively engaged in continuing education and have completed many advanced courses in cosmetic dentistry, bite reconstruction and surgery. I’m an alumnus of the Pankey Institute and the Spear Education.
Creating trusting and respectful relationships through listening is very important to me. The combination of IV sedation and surgery helps me to remove the barrier of fear for patients with very real and understandable dental apprehension. Even so, I find the best way to ensure patients feel comfortable is to always take the time to listen, provide the information you need to make an informed decision and answer all your questions. Embracing the latest in technology and techniques is one more wa, I work hard to provide you with predictable, compassionate, excellent care.
I am very excited to join the team at Bow River Dental and help you achieve you dental health goals.
When I am not learning more about dentistry, you can find me on the ski hill in the winter and kayaking, cycling and hiking in the summer or walking our 2 dogs at the off leash. I love spending time with my wife and 2 children, travel and hosting BBQ’s with friends. I practice tai chi and mediation and hope to start teaching Tai chi in the future.
