Our Team

The Bow River Dental team treats our patients as family members. We strive to create a comfortable and welcoming environment, intent on making you feel confident and at home. We encourage you to ask questions regarding any concerns you may have about the services we provide.

Dentists:

Dr. Bill Gurel grew up in Calgary. He received his BSc in Biochemistry from the University of Calgary and followed that with his DDS from the University of Alberta. After graduation, he completed a General Practice Residency at the University of Alberta Hospital, before practicing in Fort McMurray for 2 years. On several occasions he was a Clinical Supervisor for dental and hygiene students in their senior year rotations through Satellite clinics in Northern Alberta. Bow River Dental Centre has been open since 1998.

Dr. Mina Yun was born and raised in Edmonton. Mina obtained her BSc and DDS from the University of Alberta in 1993. After graduation, she practiced general dentistry in Fort McMurray and Calgary prior to settling in Cochrane. Mina and Bill have lived in Cochrane for over twelve years. A member of CDA and CDDS, Dr. Yun has had medical staff privileges at Northern Lights Regional Health Centre and worked in surgical suite settings in Calgary performing dental rehabilitation. "We are appreciative of the fact that we have the good fortune to work in such a great place that we can call home. In my downtime, I love spending time with my family; I love to bike, dance, golf badly, and practice yoga."

Dental Hygienists:

Our hygienists' mission is to support and motivate you as our patient. It is your responsibility to maintain good oral health. Lisa and Kari are certified hygienists with experience to offer and dedication to help you establish and maintain excellent oral health.

Dental Assistants:

Our certified dental assistants prepare patients for treatment and assist in the technical delivery of dental treatment along side of the dentists. Laura and Shelley are always happy to answer questions regarding any of the treatments offered in our dental practice. They are dedicated to making you visit as comfortable as possible.

Front End:

Kelly and Sharon provide the welcoming hub of our dental practice. They provide experience which equals over twenty years and are committed to ensuring your experience is a caring and comfortable one.
